Holiday closures

The crypto market trades 24/7 with no holiday closures. A few caveats: centralized exchanges (CEXs) may pause trading briefly for maintenance, or suspend withdrawals during regulatory events; on-chain (DEX) trading continues as long as nodes are running.

FAQ

Is the crypto market really open 24/7?
Yes. Crypto assets such as Bitcoin and Ethereum have no central exchange — nodes around the world produce blocks 24/7 and prices move at any time. Spot and derivatives on centralized exchanges (Binance, Coinbase, etc.) also never close.
When is crypto liquidity best?
Liquidity is highest during US morning and afternoon hours (roughly 13:00–20:00 UTC), when overlap with traditional financial markets is greatest. The early Asian session can sometimes see sharp moves.
Do BTC futures keep the same hours as spot?
CME’s BTC futures, like other CME products, have a daily one-hour maintenance window (closed 16:00–17:00 ET). Contracts on other venues (such as Binance) typically run 24/7 without interruption.
Which data source does crypto use?
Quant Data Fetch currently provides daily bars for major coins such as BTC and ETH via Yahoo Finance. Hourly and minute-level data will arrive once a dedicated crypto-exchange API is integrated.
